The family resemblance!

For a Christmas gift, I have been going through old photos like crazy and having so many wonderful memories come back to me! I am amazed at how much Ben looks like me is some of them.


I like these shots.. I was about three, and my sister obviously very new! I can only imagine what I was thinking.. "Mom! She is crying! What do I do?" And that is when I stuck my finger in her mouth. I think from that point on she was a pacifier kid. But the look on my face in the pic below just screams Ben. Crazy..

Updated pictures of Ben! He got a Fisher-Price Corn Popper for Christmas (early as we didn't want to travel with it to the Island) and is getting the hang of walking with it, as opposed to carrying it and tripping!


We went shopping in Gastown on the weekend, so Mike got a tourist-y shot of Ben and I in front of the steam clock. That was fun!


Oh! And we got Ben a "harness buddy"! Some might call them leashes or child restraint devices. Whatever, I call it "keeping my kid safe when we are in crowded public places and he is tired of being carried or sitting in the stroller!". And it is cute, too! Mike took him Christmas shopping on the weekend and tried it out in the mall. He said we need practice using it, but it is peace of mind. The good thing is is that Ben totally doesn't mind having it on. He was hugging it and carrying it around the house.

Well he didn't cry, but he REALLY didn't want to sit on his lap. This picture was after about 5 tries. A good one for the photo album, though!

14 months old!

Today Ben is 14 months old!

You are such a big boy already! Things you are doing and things you like:

- Walk all around the house on your own
- Get off of the couch/arm chair safely!
- Feed yourself off of a fork
- LOVE broccoli!
- You drink out of big boy cups all the time (except for the bedtime bottle)
- You eat almost everything that we eat!
- Discovered that ketchup is great on everything!
- Pretend to talk on the phone
- Put your hardhat on yourself and play/walk around
- You say "Mama" and starting to say "Dada"
- You love your pets
- Your favourite thing to do is place your small toys (blocks, Little people, etc), cheerios and Fishy crackers into shoes, boots, and containers throughout the house!
- Are an EXCELLENT sleeper! You have three great naps in a day and you sleep all night!
- You love storytime at bedtime
- You are wearing size 18month to 2T clothes and size 5.5 to 6 shoes.. oh my!
- Still have just 8 teeth, working on those darn molars.
- Love your mom and dad very much!
