Merriman update..

Another tardy update... things have been so busy here that I forget to post!

I got good news — I got my learner's driving licence! Wooot! Got 93% on the exam, now I gotta get the road experience and courage to do it! I can do it! I will do it! Gonna take a while, but now or never. This is it! Here I go! Can you tell I am still convincing myself? Oh well.. at least I like my photo on it :D

Ben has been fighting a virus or something lately. Low grade fever for a couple days, not interested in food at all. Took him to the doctor today to make sure he was gonna be okay, and he should. Just gotta keep doing what we are doing! There is a bit of a cough starting though. *sigh* He was in much better spirits this evening though. We actually got LAUGHING instead of whining! And a dancing/singing performance! Fingers crossed for a no fever day tomorrow.

Mike is still in school.. exams tomorrow and Friday! I know he can't wait to be done and back to work. Guys in trades do not enjoy school one bit. His parents were here for a couple visits, on their way to and from camping. Been so nice to be able to see them frequently, and for Ben to see them. He sure does love them. Granny (Ga!) and Grampa (Ga Ga!) are pretty special people in his life.

We went to visit our friends Sherri & Doug on Sunday, finally got out there to see their "new" baby girl, Amy. She is so precious and I love her to bits! Sherri used to be my big sister from waaaaaaaay back. I think almost 14 or 15 years! We had a wonderful visit and Ben was very entertaining and well behaved. Here are a few pics of the wee girl.

Oh, and we have MOLES in our yard! So annoying.. they are everywhere. I swear that is why our lawn is lumpy-bumpy, and why our apple tree is dying. Mike caught one *sniff*.. I hope they get the hint and just leave, stop destroying our garden/yard and move on! Anyone have tips for getting rid of the suckers, please share! Please please please!

Family pictures on Sunday! Our first ones! Very exciting.. and Kerry and Trevor over for dinner Saturday. Yay long weekend! Hopefully we can get some stuff done around the house (getting the painting bug! Want to get rid of the old owners colour choices!), relax, go for a drive or two.

Cynthia, Cynthia, quite contrary..

How does your garden grow? Since there isn't really anything new around our neck of the woods, I thought I would share pictures of my garden and more flowers.

Peppers & tomatoes. There are sunflowers coming up along the fence too. And cucumbers I think, too. Mom went crazy planting :)

Raspberries & potato plants... and weeds. Gotta weed.

My loverly clematis... can't wait to see what it looks like when it blooms.

Lettuce

More lettuce.

Tomato!

Pink flowers.. don't remember what they are called.

Red geraniums.

My herb garden... parsley, basil, thai basil and dill.

I *heart* peonies.. and roses!

They have started to bloom and they are magnificent! Actually, the first day my peonies opened was the same day that we found daycare for Ben. Wooot! Here are a bunch of photos.. wish I could attached the scent of the roses. Holy doodles (right Cathy!?! :D) In the front I am waiting for my white and deep red peonies to open.

My kitchen counter looks so pretty.. the only safe place away from little hands, dogs and a pesky cat! Otherwise I would have vases alllllll over the house.

The iris's started to open up, too, and thankfully they aren't black. It was beginning to creep me out... not a pretty pink, but what can you do.

I walked Ben to his first day at daycare.. I hope he is having a fun day. Actually, I hope that he is napping. UPDATE! Email from Eva saying that all is well and his is sleeping! Yahoo! We are so happy with Eva, she seems just magnificent, too good to be true!

He is growing up so fast! With his hair cut short, he sure does look like a young boy, and not a baby/toddler. He is working on his last two eye teeth, then we just wait for the last molars and teething is outta here! Good riddance! He can FINALLY say truck (cruck).. not everything is car.. or caaahhhhh! Quite the character though.. he sure can make us laugh.
