Ho ho ho!

So we took Ben to see Santa on Friday night at the local mall. I have been trying to teach him bits about Santa, he has a book or two and he can say "Santa"! I even got him saying "Ho ho ho!". Well, more like "Ho ho!". Either way it is funny :D

He did not cry with him this year, thankfully. They had a play area there for the kids to keep busy while we waited in line (there were only three kids ahead of us). What I didn't like is that I had to pick my photo package before the picture was taken! This was not the by-donation type Santa, and then I find out that they just print the pictures there, so they will fade over time. Bah-humbug! So I got this $15 package, and Ben won't sit on his lap. Oh well, no screaming fits. I tell you though, if they had candy canes he would have sat! A stuffed bunny just doesn't cut it with a 2 year old boy! Needless to say Mom got to sit in the picture.. had to get my money's worth!

When he was at Mom and Dad's last week he saw Santa there and all was well because of a candy cane! It's not blood in his mouth :D Santa is a bit crazed looking, but they are humorous pictures!

Here are his two other past Santa pictures. His first picture is by far my favourite! That Santa was the best.. perfect!

It's Christmas time!

When Ben was away at Mom and Dad's, we figured it would be a good opportunity to pull out all the Christmas decorations from the crawlspace and set some of them up. We left the big tree to be decorated, hoping we could do it all together, but didn't really work out that way since we all got sick with the flu! It was done in small doses! The last few years we have set up a little tree (which I decorated for Ben for the front window!) and I realize that I don't really have many non-breakable ornaments!

It snowed a lot on Saturday/Sunday, but then the rain came and washed it all away. Mike built Ben a snowman! Lola didn't like it so much and kept barking at it.. silly dog. We didn't get a change to go play out in it this time, because he had a bad couch and whatnot, so hopefully it'll snow again and we can use his snow pants and the sled!

Ben's tree!

The wreath I made!

Our mantle.. we are having Christmas at our house this year. Mom and Dad are bringing Mike's Granny, too! Will be lots of fun :D

The big fake tree lacking in decorations! But Mike did a fab job putting the lights on! Note the reindeer in the bottom right corner... it "walks" and sings a song and Ben HATES it! He kicks it repeatedly and runs away!

Sleeping Ben part deux

Who can resist a sleeping baby? Well, he's not really a baby anymore but he is as sweet as one! He was getting over the flu (hence the towel on his bed as a potential easy clean-up measure!) and I was so relieved that he was sleeping soundly, buried in his blankets!..
