It's been a busy start of the year, and yet I can't think of what we have done! A lot of it has been stuff around the house, getting the nursery ready and preparing for the baby, and overall just doing day to day things!
Ben is doing great.. growing like mad and talking up a storm. It's hilarious to have him try to talk sentences, when some if it still comes out as gibberish. He tries though! Daycare is going well for him, he really likes it. His last day is going to be March 7th, which I am sad about but if I am not working we can't afford to send him. Hopefully I am able to entertain him enough so he (and myself!) doesn't go stir crazy! Until then we just wait for the baby's arrival!
We have been getting the baby's things out slowly but surely, hoping it will make for an easier transition once his brother or sister arrives. It will be an adjustment either way.
Small renovations have started around the house. As I type, Mike is upstairs in the kitchen ripping down tile, removing drywall (and laughing at the way a lot of it was constructed! Pictures to come later!), making a pass through from the kitchen to the living room and installing more outlets.. something we REALLY need in there! Hopefully we can get a new hood fan/microwave combo soon for above the stove so we can gain some needed counter space. So nice having a handy hubby!
Granny and Grampa will be coming sometime early March, in preparation of the baby. Ben is getting an early birthday present of a swing set! That will be the big backyard project while we wait.. so exciting! Since it's not really going to be used in October, the timing is going to be great with having it in the back yard for when I am home alone with two little ones. My arms will be mega toned from pushing him on the swings! I got a sling for the baby though, so I intend to use it a lot this summer and be able to be out there with him. He LOVES swings. Getting him in the house might be tricky :D
