Ben at the Park

Yesterday morning Mom and I took Ben to the park.. it was a blast! He played well with other kids (always a good thing!), ran around a ton and we even left without too much of a fuss!

And yes, if he looks different, it's because Mike gave him his first piggy-shave hair cut that morning. I wanted to get pictures of it, but I was too busy helping hold hands out of the way, head still, wiping tears, etc. I am still not used to it!

As you can see, this new "cheese" face is a hit!

March update..

It's been so busy around here I haven't even taken a picture of ANYTHING in nearly two weeks. Bad mom.

Ben is doing great... he has grown almost an inch since Thanksgiving and weighs 35 pounds! My little tank! Talking up a storm, copying what we say.. it's hilarious. He loves Superman lately (Easter bunny is on the lookout for a Superman action figure), reading, his tool box, riding his bike (is actually steering and using the pedals more!) and of course, Curious George. Or "MONKEY!". He is a monkey. Luckily he is sleeping better.. no more getting up in the night for no reason, and waking at the wee wee hours. Phew. Let's hope this stays.

Today is his last day of daycare (and my last day of work!) and I am sad about that. I know he will miss them terribly there. He has changed and grown so much since starting there in June/July. I hope we can keep in touch, and possibly get together for a play date every once in a while. He is such an active little boy I am going to have my hands full!

On Sunday Mike and I celebrated our 6th wedding anniversary! Wooot! My sister and nephew came out for a visit & dinner, and she "babysat" Ben once he was in bed so we could go to a movie. A date! What fun! It was nice to get out.. seats are not so comfy for a very pregnant lady, but still a treat. Even more of a treat that we got to use free passes!

Mike has been busy working on the kitchen.. re-wiring, adding plugs, adding 6 wonderful pot lights.. ahhhh. It's going to be fab when done. Soon. It's hard when the only time he gets to work on it is after Ben goes to bed. Otherwise I can't keep Ben away from him.. he constantly says "Doin'?" in the cutest little voice you can't help by snicker EVERY time! He sure loves his Daddy.

This Saturday, Mike's parents are coming over to wait for the baby to arrive! It was going to be Wednesday, but I haven't been feeling so great, in some pain and worry that it's going to be before then. So they are putting us all at ease and coming a few days earlier. Will be a wonderful thing to have help with Ben, too. And that means we can start work on his swingset! Well, I can do a great job of supervising from the sidelines!

In the meantime I am trying to take it easy, finish last minute things for the baby/nursery (still waiting to hang the drapes/blind in there or I would share pics!) and have packed the bags! Can't wait to meet this little trickster!
